By the way, I’m Dr James and I’m one of the principal dentists here at Elevate Dental.
When you first come in, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members and be asked to fill out your information and health history on an iPad.
Next, you will be brought into the room by one of our caring dental assistants.
One of our experienced dentists will meet with you to understand your dental concerns before gathering information about your dental situation. This includes a full set of dental photographs, digital low-dose x-rays and any other necessary tests and baseline measurements. We check everything – your teeth, gums, soft tissues, oral cancer screening, jaw joints and movements, and the muscles of your jaw and face.
Then we professionally clean, floss and polish your teeth, and apply any preventative tooth treatments to strengthen your teeth. When this is done, your mouth feels fresher, gums and teeth feel healthier, and your smile rejuvenated.
After a thorough clean, the dentist will thoroughly explain any problems you may have, taking the time to guide you through your treatment options. During this time, you can ask any questions as we work towards a personal treatment plan.
If you are comfortable with the treatment plan, and want to go ahead with it, we will organise another time to have you booked in for your treatment. If you want to think about it, you are very welcome to do that as well. You will never be pressured into anything that you are not comfortable with.
So that’s what happens at an initial consultation. As you can see, we gather a lot of information and take the time to discuss everything with you, so typically this will take about one hour.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of what happens at the initial consultation here at Elevate Dental. It is very simple, and there is nothing to be fearful of. We are friendly, caring and compassionate. So if you are looking for a dentist to look after you, why not give us a call at +61 3 9428 2424, send us a direct message on social media, or complete the enquiry form on our website at www.elevatedental.com.au, and we will help you organise your appointment. We look forward to meeting you.
